The Contemporary Museum of Spanish Engraving will host the “Miró posters” exhibition until 30th of October. The exhibition includes 32 works of art by the Catalan artist, for the most part posters commissioned by art galleries to promote their exhibitions or cultural events.
Joan Miró, as well as painting and sculpture amongst other artistic disciplines, showed particular interest in graphic design, which he practised between 1963 and 1985. All the posters exhibited here come from this phase. They are original works, printed by hand by Miró himself, from which all the other posters were reproduced.
“These works of art are particularly attractive given that they are very impressive in both colour and form” stated Carmen Díaz, councillor for Culture, who introduced the exhibition.
